Thread-leaved sedge
Carex filifolia
This plant is a short-growing dryland member of the sedge family. It is usually found in dry regions on sand, flats and exposed gravelly edges, and at sites where the soil is shallow or infertile. The thread leaved sedge is one of the most common plants growing in mixed-grass regions.
