Native Plants of the Chaplin Lake Area
Seaside arrow-grass
Triglochin Maritima
Seaside arrow grasses, which occur in moist, saline areas, can be very poisonous to livestock. The foliage is readily eaten with poisoning most common when cattle are first exposed to the plant. The toxic poison, prussic acid, develops in the plant after injury from grazing, trampling, drought or frost.
