This mat-forming plant spreads on over-grazed pastures.
It has little forage value although flowers are sometimes
grazed. Over ten species of this plant are common on
the prairies. Leaves are mostly in basal rosettes and
usually woolly or hairy. White or rose flower heads
resemble the toes of a cat's paws.
