Broomweed

Gutierrezia sarothrae

This is a bushy, many-branched half-shrub growing from a deep, woody taproot. It is common in dry areas and hillsides. It also increases on poorly managed rangelands. It produces numerous clusters of yellow heads. This plant is unpalatable and may be poisonous to sheep and cattle.
