GIF-Asters

Asters are one of the last wildflowers to bloom. Their daisy-like flowers have a yellow centre, with surrounding petals of purple, blue, pink or white. Asters can be found in almost any sunny location. They are often surrounded by bees and other insects searching for nectar. Local species include the smooth, many- flowered, showy, Lindleis and prairie.
