Pyrrocoma carthamoides var. subsquarrosus

- Synonym: Haplopappus carthamoides var. subsquarrosus
- Similar Species: P. clementis and P. integrifolia have prominent yellow ray flowers (over 10 mm long). P. uniflora and P. lanceolata have smaller heads and shorter disk flowers.
- Flowering/Fruiting Period: July-August.
- Distribution: Absaroka Mountains of NW Wyoming (Park Co.) and S Montana.
- Habitat: Open meadows, slopes, and ridges on sandstone or limestone substrates. Elev. 6400-10,300 ft.
