Penstemon acaulis var. acaulis

- Similar Species: P. caespitosus has short, erect, leafy stems and shortstalked flowers. P. acaulis var. yampaensis has broader, linear to oblanceolate leaves.
- Flowering/Fruiting Period: May-July.
- Distribution: Endemic to SW Wyoming (Sweetwater Co.), NW Colorado, and NE Utah.
- Habitat: Cushion plant communities on semi-barren rocky ridges and slopes. Elev. 5900-7200 ft.
