Parthenium alpinum

- Synonym: Bolophyta alpina
- Similar Species: Vegetative Hymenoxys acaulis have longer leaf blades with prominent midribs. Vegetative Haplopappus acaulis have longer leaves without tufts of hair in axils. In flower, both species have longstalked heads and yellow ray flowers.
- Flowering/Fruiting Period: May-June.
- Distribution: Endemic to NE Colorado and SE Wyoming.
- Habitat: Cushion plant communities on open, stony slopes and ridges, often on calcareous substrates. Elev. 4400-6400 ft.
