Haplopappus macronema var. linearis

- Synonym: H. m. var. canescens
- Similar Species: Chrysothamnus spp. have erect stems, smaller and more numerous flower heads, and involucre bracts in 5 vertical rows. H. suffruticosus has yellow ray flowers and glandular, non-woolly twigs.
- Flowering/Fruiting Period: July-September.
- Distribution: SW Montana and NW Wyoming (Fremont, Park, and Teton Cos. and Yellowstone NP).
- Habitat: Semi-barren, whitish clay flats and slopes, gravel bars, and sandy lakeshores. Elev. 7700-10300 ft.
