Cirsium aridum

- Similar Species: C. pulcherrimum is usually taller, with greenish, glabrous upper leaf surfaces and fruit with a yellow rim at top. C. hookerianum has densely pubescent involucre bracts and dark fruit.
- Flowering/Fruiting Period: June-August.
- Distribution: Endemic to the Wind River and Green River basins of C Wyoming (Fremont and Sublette Cos.).
- Habitat: Barren, chalky hills, gravelly slopes, and fine-textured, sandy-shaley draws. Elev. 6700-7200 ft.
