Carex incurviformis

- Synonyms: C. i. var. danaensis; C. maritima
- Similar Species: C. foetida var. vernacula has leaves over 1.5 mm wide that are shorter than the spikes. C. capitata has only one spike per stem. Other alpine Carex spp. with head-like inflorescences in Wyoming have 3 stigmas and 3-sided achenes, or deciduous pistillate scales, or lack rhizomes.
- Flowering/Fruiting Period: July-August.
- Distribution: Circumpolar, south to California, Colorado, Manitoba, and Quebec. Known from the Absaroka and Wind River ranges in Wyoming.
- Habitat: Alpine and subalpine moist tundra and wet rock ledges. Elev. 10000- 12200 ft.
