Botrychium ascendens

- Similar Species: B. lunaria has overlapping, entire-margined leaflets and spreading vegetative segments. B. campestre has oblong leaflets and fertile and vegetative leaf segments of about equal length.
- Spore-Producing Period: July-August.
- Distribution: Widely scattered from Yukon to Ontario south to California and the Absaroka Mountains of Wyoming (Fremont Co.).
- Habitat: Moist meadows and thickets in mountains. Elev. 8000 ft.
