Astragalus gilviflorus var. purpureus

- Similar Species: A. gilviflorus var. gilviflorus has white or cream-colored flowers. A. proimanthus and A. hyalinus have fiddle-shaped banners. Other Astragalus spp. with 3 leaflets have smaller flowers.
- Flowering/Fruiting Period: June-July.
- Distribution: Endemic to the NW Wind River Basin, Wyoming (Fremont Co.).
- Habitat: Barren shale, badlands, limestone, and redbed slopes and ridges. Elev. 6900-8800 ft.
