Plants with vascular bundles of stems typically arranged in a ring in herbaceous
forms, forming a cylinder which encloses a central pith, usually with a fascicular
cambium; woody forms with secondary growth added on in layers by a vascular
cambium; leaves mostly pinnately or palmately net-veined; flower parts (mainly
the sepals, petals and stamens) usually in multiples of 4 or 5, seldom 3; plant
embryo usually with 2 cotyledons.
