Floristic Quality Assessment for Plant Communities of
North Dakota, South Dakota (excluding the Black Hills),
and Adjacent Grasslands

We would like to thank individuals and agency representatives who attended our November 1999, meeting in Jamestown, North Dakota, and provided their ideas, inspiration, and support. We thank Northern Prairie Wildlife Research Center for hosting this initial meeting and North Dakota State University for providing use of their facilities for our follow-up workshop in Fargo, ND. This effort would not have been possible without the financial support of the Natural Resources Conservation Service, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the U.S. Geological Survey. We thank Mark A. Anderson, Robert R. Cox, Jr., Ann L. Dahl, Bruce A. Hanson, and two anonymous individuals for reviewing this manuscript, and Dorothy E. Mushet for providing the cover illustration. Additionally, we thank Dr. Gerould S. Wilhelm for providing his unique insight and guidance throughout this process, especially during our initial meeting in Jamestown and the resulting workshop in Fargo.
