Impact of Red Fox Predation on the Sex Ratio of Prairie Mallards
Part One: A Model of Fox Impact on Mallard Sex Ratios
The first step in constructing our model was to specify the geographical area and time period to which the model applied, the components of the model, and the relationships among these components. It was then necessary to use the best available data to estimate the parameters involved in the relationships. We were fortunate in obtaining estimates of most parameters in our model. The next steps were to operate the model and to interpret the results obtained. Lastly, we needed to determine the validity of our results.
