Fire in North American Wetland Ecosystems and Fire-Wildlife Relations: An Annotated Bibliography

52. Cox, W. T. 1939. Marsh firebreaks a boon to wildlife. Am. For. 45:109-111, 137.

These have been returned to more natural conditions by resettling farmers and building dams to raise water levels to control fire. Fire, originally uncommon, is once again largely absent from the area. [K-L-S]
