Difficulties arise in attempting a faunistic analysis in a province such as
Manitoba, with not one but four biomes and its many inaccessible areas. A convenient
means of collecting north of 52°N, especially in remote areas, would greatly
add to our knowledge of the nature of Manitoba's spider fauna. Here and elsewhere,
more microhabitat information will facilitate collection of ''obscure'' and
"rare'' species, as previously mentioned. Check lists in adjacent provinces
and states would undoubtedly include many species found in Manitoba and would
give a more comprehensive overview of arachnid distributional patterns in mid-continental
North America.
