Phyllodesma americana [Lasiocampidae]

Silver and grey with black tones; soft, fuzzy, grey hairs; transverse orange yellow line across A1 and A2; small middorsal raised area on A8. This caterpillar is very common on many broadleaf trees, including white oak, serviceberry, alders, chinquapin, and willows, from May to August.
