Acronicta funeralis [Noctuidae]

Early instars brown with white markings; fourth instar black with middorsal light yellow markings that are triangular to elliptical with transverse black streaks in the center and black sparse long hairs with flattened tips. This species is not common and feeds on various broadleaf plants such as blueberry, hazel, and white oak, during July and August.
