Caterpillars of Pacific Northwest
Forests and Woodlands

Semiothisa New Species [Geometridae]

This is an undescribed species. The dark and light green hues of the caterpillar result in a remarkable example of cryptic coloration. This caterpillar is very common but feeds only on western juniper during July and August.
