Arctia caja [Arctiidae]


Thoracic hairs mostly reddish orange; dorsal abdominal hairs white, lateral hairs reddish orange. This caterpillar is common on herbacious plants such as vetch and grasses. It is present in fall and overwinters, completing development by May or June.
