  • BND: Western Tiger Swallowtail; Papilio (Pterourus) rutulus Lucas, 1852
  • BNA: Western Tiger Swallowtail; Papilio rutulus
  • NDC: PTRU
  • Habitat: Western riparian situations. All ND records are suspect, based on mislabelings, frequent misidentifications, and a history of erroneous references to the Turtle Mountain P. canadensis facies as P. rutulus arcticus
  • Larval food: Prunus, Populus, Salix, Fraxinus, others
  • Adult flight: Double-brooded in west, May/June and August
  • References: Royer 65, Ferris & Brown 187, Scott 179 (as a ssp. of P. glaucus)
