- Habitat: Woodland margins in far southeast; likes rotting fruit, sap, carrion
- Larval food: Mostly Prunus, but also Populus,Crataegus, Amelanchier
- Adult flight: Double-brooded in most of range, but apparently only one brood in southeastern ND, late June through July; intergrade "Hybrid Admirals," with varying degrees of white banding, are evident in ND populations
