JPG -- Dead coyotes along a fence
Dead coyotes along County Road 30 in Baca County, just north of the southern section of the Comanche National Grasslands. This rancher had hung approximately 20 coyotes on the fence in a vain attempt to control numbers. These efforts likely had the opposite effect, as destabilization of the local population encourages outsiders to enter empty territories, thus increasing effective densities of coyotes.
