Morton Elrod:

Elrod was a professor of zoology at the University of Montana and he also established the University's biological station at Yellowbay on Flathead Lake. His interests in zoology were diverse and he conducted many studies on western Montana wildlife. We have listed a few of his earlier publication here.

Elrod, Morton John.  1908.  The Flathead buffalo range: a report to the 
     American Bison Society of an inspection of the Flathead Indian 
     Reservation, Montana, for the purpose of selecting a suitable 
     location for a national buffalo range.  American Bison Society.

     paper has old photos of Flathead Lake and Valley and gives results of
