** Plant as early as possible. Planting time can be extended at least 30 days beyond optimum if weather or soil conditions are wet.

*** Plant only when soil moisture is adequate. Plant early enough to allow at least 40 days for seedlings to develop before they go dormant in the fall.

**** Dormant seedings are made for spring germination; therefore, they must be planted late enough so there is no chance of fall germination.
