Distribution of Fishes in the Red River of the North Basin on Multivariate Environmental Gradients

Cyprinidae

Largescale Stoneroller

Campostoma oligolepis Hubbs & Greene, the largescale stoneroller, was first collected from the Red River basin in May 1952 from the Forest River at Inkster (BMNH 1994) (Figure A18). The only other records of this species are from collections made by the NDDH (1994) during the summers of 1993 and 1994, when eight and 74 specimens were taken, respectively, also from the Forest River. Vouchers from these collections have been deposited at the BMNH. The Forest River population is the northernmost reported for this species and is the only known occurrence in the entire Hudson Bay drainage.
