Body length typically 12-14 mm. Dorsal coloration is dull green to golden bronze with incomplete maculations which are reduced to a marginal band along the elytra. Habitat is most commonly on the beaches of islands in large rivers, and river deltas. This summer species is active from June through September. Some sources list this beetle as extremely rare. Leonard and Bell (1999) state that it is listed as "Rare, Threatened, or Endangered" as a species in Vermont, and is under consideration for addition to the national threatened or endangered species list. |
