No Common Name (Cicindela theatina)

Body size ranges from 12-14 mm. Dorsal coloration is greenish brown with coppery overtones. The head and pronotum can be metallic green. Elytral maculations are complete and expanded, and a marginal band is present. This species is only known to inhabit the Great Sand Dunes National monument and surrounding areas. It is reported to be found on the open, bare faces of sand dunes. This is a spring/fall species about which little is known. Due to its limited range, this species is under consideration for Federal protection.
