The coloration of this species is variable but most commonly dull brown to dull reddish brown, with some individuals having a green hue on the head and pronotum. Other color forms exist including individuals with green to bluish green, or yellowish copper to greenish bronze elytra. Habitat is most commonly open, sparsely vegetated shifting sand dunes. Some work has been done on the life history of this species, but details are still lacking. It is likely a summer species.
