No Common Name (Cicindela duodecimguttata [Dejean])
Otherwise known as the 12-spotted tiger beetle, this species is larger, typically 12-15 mm in length. From above, the coloration appears dark brown to black. In most specimens, elytral maculations are incomplete and broken into 12 spots. Typical habitats are moist areas along rivers (commonly found where river banks are vertical), moist trails, roads, and paths. This is a spring fall species. |
