Body length ranges from 15 to 17 mm. Dorsal coloration is dark, almost black. Maculations are incomplete and greatly reduced to thin lines and small dots. Common habitats include sandy areas near bogs, forests, bare rock, forest roads and trails not frequented by humans. This is a spring/fall species.
