This species is 12-16 mm in length. Dorsal coloration is dark bronze-brown to black with complete maculations. This species utilizes a great variety of habitats. These are usually clay or sandy soils, and include sand dunes, prairies, alkali flats, gravel pits, eroded slopes, beaches, and roads. This spring/fall species has a 2 year lifecycle.
