Common size is 11-14 mm. Dorsal surface brown-bronze to green-bronze. Head and pronotum are dull greenish black. Elytral maculations are complete, commonly with basal dot and humeral and apical dots. This species is nearly always found on mud flat areas, such as inter-tidal zones, beaches, salt marshes, saline flats, back beaches, and tidal mud flats. This is a summer species found from June through July. Life history of this species is poorly documented and little is known about the biology.
