This is a small (6-8 mm) flightless tiger beetle. Dorsal coloration is bronze-brown to greenish brown with variable maculations that are usually complete. This species has been found in a variety of habitats, including wet ditches, prairies, and alkali habitats. This is a summer species active from June through August.
