No Common Name (Cicindela unipunctata)
Common size is from 14-18 mm. Dull to dark brown dorsal coloration with greenish elytral punctures. Maculations are incomplete and greatly reduced. Common habitat is unusual for Cicindela in that this species is generally shade-loving and can be found in hardwood forest situations. It can usually be encountered along shaded woodland paths. Ecology of this species is not well known. Adults have been collected from April through September, with peak numbers in June or July. |
