Size is typically 9-11 mm. The dorsal surface is white or cream. The head and thorax are green or reddish and covered by white setae. Maculations are greatly expanded and leave only small areas of light brown. Habitats include pure white to pale yellow dry sandy areas with sparse or no vegetation, including coastal sand dunes and inland sand pits. Usually found on coastal shorelines, or large lake shores, but can be found on sand flats away from water and on dunes well inland. This is a summer species with a 2-year life cycle. |
