Body size ranges between 11-14 mm. Dorsal coloration is highly variable with green, blue, brown, or purple forms possible. Maculation patterns are complete with a pronounced marginal band. This species is associated with saline habitats such as salt flat areas. This is a summer species with maximum activity in late June through mid-August.
