Waterfowl Identification in the Central Flyway

The Central Flyway Waterfowl Council wishes to thank the many individuals involved in the collection of materials for and preparation of this guide. Particular thanks go to artist Donald A. Soderlund, who created the color illustrations for this book, and to the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks' Information and Education Section for coodinating the original publication.

The Council also wishes to thank the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U. S. Department of the Interior, for use of the small black and white flight illustrations of various species from its publication, "Ducks at a Distance."

Finally, special appreciation goes to Duane Westerholt of the Nebraka Game and Park Commission for his black and white illustrations of the "big white birds" and to Nebraska's Information and Education Division for coordinating the latest revisions and reprint.

The booklet on which this resource is based was published with funds derived from state hunting license sales and the federal excise taxes on sporting arms and ammunition.
