You Can Help Wildlife
Oklahoma's Nongame Wildlife Program assists in managing and protecting more than 800 species of wildlife. One way to support the Nongame Program's efforts is by "Searching for the Scissortail" (shown below) on your state tax form and sharing your tax refund with wildlife. Even if you don't receive a tax refund, you can still help by sending a tax-deductible contribution directly to the Nongame Program. Direct donations of $10 or more will receive a special wildlife-related gift.
You also can show your support for wildlife by purchasing the colorful Wildlife Conservation License Plates for an additional $25. $20 of the fee returns to the Nongame Program. The new plates serve as the regular tag on the rear of the vehicle and feature two designs: a scissor-tailed flycatcher or white-tailed deer. They can be personalized at no extra cost and application forms are available at tag agencies statewide or from the Nongame Program. The plates are valid one year from the date of issuance.
