Birds of Ozark Riverways

small state map showing location

Van Buren, Missouri

Ozark Riverways was established to protect the natural and cultural resources of the Current and Jacks Fork Rivers. The great diversity of birds found within the park is a result of the many kinds of habitat available.

This list (revised August, 1991) includes 196 species. However, many other birds occur within the Ozarks that have yet to be recorded within the park. We invite you to share with us any observations or comments (or field notes!) that you may have. Sightings of rare or occasional species, or a species that is not listed, should be reported.
