Lake Kaweah

Lake Kaweah is located 21 miles east of Visalia, California, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. The lake and surrounding areas contain a variety of plant and wildlife habitats, including open grasslands, oak woodlands, and riparian areas.

Terminus Dam was constructed for flood control and irrigation so water levels will fluctuate considerably during the year.

A total of 201 species have been identified at the park. Some of the birds may only be seen soaring overhead, and may not land at the park.
