Breeding Range. Rare, irregular and local. Three young were banded in a nest at Chaffee in Cass County on September 7, 1952 (T. Abercrombie). Summer records of adults also have been reported from Walsh County in 1915 (H. V. Williams), Grand Forks County in 1922 (D. V. Eastman), McHenry County in 1948 (P. Hoffman), and McLean County (year ? - T. Erickson). barn owl
