Breeding Birds of North Dakota

Swainson's thrush (Catharus ustulatus (Nuttall))

Breeding Range. Hypothetical. Records of adults during the breeding season suggest the possibility of breeding status. One was collected at Grafton in Walsh County on June 30, 1910 (H. V. Williams). A singing adult, apparently on territory, was recorded on two successive days (June 28-29, 1966) in the Turtle Mountains of Rolette County, about 3 miles north of Belcourt (RES).
