Chestnut-sided warbler (Dendroica pensylvanica (Linnaeus))


Breeding Range. (Fig. 140). Uncommon and local in the Turtle Mountains within Bottineau and Rolette Counties, and in the Pembina Hills within Cavalier County.

Breeding Habitat. Fairly dense upland thickets of young or second-growth deciduous forest composed of small trees and tall shrubs.

Nesting. A breeding pair and an incomplete set of two fresh eggs were collected on July 14, 1905 at Carpenter Lake in the Turtle Mountains of Rolette County by Elmer T. Judd (Bishop egg collection catalog, Peabody Museum).
