Lithophane amanda [Noctuidae]

Light green with whitish hue; spiracular white line not as prominent as in Lithophane georgii; faint dorsal and subdorsal white line; head with white spots. This species is common on willow during May and June. This caterpillar is similar in appearance to Orthosia hibisci and Cosmia calami. These three species differ in the pattern of the dorsal, subdorsal, and spiracular longitudinal lines as well as the white granulations on the body.
