Schizura concinna [Notodontidae]
Yellow with multiple white bands separated by black stripes along the subdorsal region and white streaks bordered in black at the base of the midabdominal prolegs; head and middorsum of T3 red. Early instars are gregarious and solid yellow with black spines. When agitated the odor of glacial acetic acid is emitted from the larvae. This species is common on many broadleaf trees and shrubs, in particular, snowbrush and white oak during July and August.
