The lateral flanges on A2-A5 are characteristic of three inchworms commonly encountered (see Nemoria darwiniata; the third species, Synchlora aerata, is not illustrated). Coloration in this species is more consistent than in N. darwiniata. Body is green with minute white dots and oblique yellow-white stripes. This species is most common on ocean spray during May and June.
