Group B-2a -- Subgroups: Hairs different lengths - Species in group B-2a have hairs that are equal to or longer than half the width of the body.

Less than half covered in long hairs - Species in this subgroup have less than half of the body length covered in hairs that are longer than the width of the body; most or all of the hairs are equal to a half or full width of the body. Most of these species are Acronicta [Noctuidae] or Arctiidae.
